Lower Back Pain Treatment at Southern Oregon Sports & Spine Chiropractic Care

Let me guess. You are in pain.

Whether you just injured your back recently or you’ve been struggling with low back pain for years, your back hurts. A lot. It’s interfering with your enjoyment of life. It’s keeping you from doing the things you want to do. And you’re sick of it.

You’re sick of waking up in the morning feeling stiff and sore.

You’re tired of not being able to sit comfortably in a restaurant while everyone else lingers contentedly over dessert.

You’re fed up with not being able to do simple things like picking up your grandchild or helping your spouse move a bookcase.

You may even feel angry or depressed that wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, back pain is a constant in your life. There may be times when you think it’s going to go on forever and worry that you’ll never be rid of it.

If you’re like most back pain sufferers, you’ve tried nearly everything in the book to get rid of your pain: ice and heat, massage, back braces, pain meds, exercises, acupuncture, a new bed, and maybe even surgery. But chances are these changes only brought you temporary or partial relief. No wonder you’re frustrated!

Since you’re reading this, one thing is clear: You haven’t given up. You still believe there is something out there that can give you significant relief. You just need to find it.

That’s just the kind of patient I like to see in my practice.

The SOSAS Difference

Over the past three decades, We’ve seen literally thousands of patients suffering from the exact type of pain you’re suffering from right now. And our experience is that 90% of the people who come into our office complaining of low back pain experience some level of relief within four weeks – oftentimes much sooner.

I was fortunate to be referred to Heller Chiropractic after spending the summer as a professional patient. I had met with 16 doctors before arriving on the doorstep. My pain was crippling, and I had a raft of painkillers that were not addressing the cause of the pain or treating me as a person. In fact, the pain was increasing. After my first treatment, I could walk without pain. After follow-up visits, I was able to throw away the pain pills, and now I am back in my Pilates class, I can walk without pain, I can sleep at night, and my posture is so much better overall. • Gentle, low force adjustments to the joints to get you back in proper alignment.

  • Soft tissue therapies to allow your muscles to release their tight hold. Depending on your specific condition, these might include cold laser to speed healing and reduce inflammation, massage therapy to release muscle tension, and a revolutionary Russian electrical stimulator, which often markedly reduces pain patterns immediately.

  • Rehabilitation exercises and stretches that “reboot” your system, activating those key muscles so they do their job of supporting your spine.

  • If necessary, I will coordinate with my trusted network of health care providers in Southern Oregon to get you the care you need outside of my office.

What You Can Expect From Your First Appointment

The problem with most doctors who treat back pain is that they look for “what’s wrong” with the bone or joint. But that misses 90% of the cause of all back pain. So if you’ve been told you just have to live with your pain, my message to you is: Don’t buy it!

The reason most people have lower back pain is simply because certain key muscles in their back have stopped working to support their spine. And the body is really good at reproducing what it’s used to. So once your nervous system starts to experience pain, it may keep reproducing pain signals even after the original injury has healed.

It’s time to reset your system and get out of pain!

I have had lower back problems for over 10 years, and in that time have gone to several chiropractors, osteopaths, and physical therapists. Dr. Marc Heller is one of the few doctors who do not assume the same treatment will work for everyone. He took the time to talk about my entire medical history, find root causes for my pain, and go over what had been tried in the past. He gave me stretches and exercises not only to alleviate the current pain I was in but also to prevent future occurrences. Dr. Heller and his staff enabled me to finally break out of the cycle of pain I was in, and they substantially improved my health and well-being. I highly recommend them to everyone. —Natalie Case

  • We will take your personal history to learn all about your pain. We’ll talk about when your pain started, what makes your pain better, and what makes your pain worse. We’ll go through your whole history of injuries, including ones you may not think are associated with your low back pain. (You’d be surprised how an injury in one part of the body can affect another part!)

  • We will give you a physical examination to look at how well your muscles are working, where they are weak or loose or tight, if you have any tender points in your ligaments, what your range of motion is, and which movements bother you.

  • Next, we’ll develop a personalized plan for you.
